I am not a fan of country music. But I do have an appreciation for it. That was not always the case though. As a young kid into Punk, Metal, and Hip-Hop, Country music was everything I hated about music.
It wasn't as though I didn't have exposure to it growing up. My mother would play her Eddie Arnold albums throughout the day when I was growing up. I don't think we ever missed an episode of Hee Haw. Still, I was young and aggressive and I wanted music that symbolized that. It was not going to be Country.

Musical Thoughts - The RHCP and the infamous Super Bowl Halftime Show 02/22/14
Since I am still hearing about this I thought I would weigh in and share my 5 cent opinion.
The last time I checked the tickets that were sold for this event were for the Super Bowl.

CBGB Festival @ Times Square - New York NY 10/12/13 (Ice-T, Part 3 of 3)
I decided to walk to mile and a half up the Bowery to the next venue. It is always a little intimidating walking a part of town in a city that I don't know. Only its history. I was pleasantly surprised by the revitalization of this part of town. The outdoor cafes. The bustling night life. I was truly enjoying the stroll in the wonderful weather when I quickly came up to my next destination.

Last 10 tracks shuffled randomly from my iPod - 2/18/14
I have about 26,000 songs on my iPod. Sometimes it is just fun to see what you get. It also reminds me of some great material that I do not always see when I am looking through all of the songs. These are the first 10 songs that came up when I hit shuffle this morning.

CBGB Festival @ Times Square - New York NY 10/12/13 (Killswitch Engage, Part 2 of 3)
I had never been on a NY subway...let alone by myself. Sometimes when I think of NYC I still think of it as the 1970's NYC. Sometimes a scary place. I was pleasantly surprised. My ride was actually enjoyable. It was a short 6 minute commute to my next destination. Santos Party House in Downtown Manhattan, near China Town.

CBGB Festival @ Times Square - New York NY 10/12/13 (Grizzly Bear & My Morning Jacket Part 1 of 3)
I really had no intention of going to this festival. Just like the critics, I felt as though the Festival did not encompass the scene the CBGB's helped create in the 70's. It wasn't even the same owners. It is now a corporation and seemed to be opposite of what CBGB's was. My opinion would change.
